(CNSNews.com) - As Britain becomes the latest Western country to reach out to Indonesia, Prime Minister Tony Blair and his Indonesian counterpart agreed to set up a joint "forum" intended to reduce misunderstandings between Islam and the West.

At the same time, he expressed regret that "the West and Islam often walk and talk past each other, rather than to each other"...The form of Islam practiced by the majority of Indonesians is widely described as moderate...

A forum, or advisory group, to be set up between the two governments "...will send a signal, and be a symbol to the outside world about how we believe that a future based on tolerance and respect for others will allow the world to make progress," he said. The two countries' foreign ministries will work on setting up the forum, and Blair said he would work with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to ensure it was effective...

After his meeting with clerics, the head of the Muhammadiyah movement - Indonesia's second largest mainstream Muslim group, which boasts some 30 million members - said the group had told Blair he should pull British troops out of Iraq, as their presence their was stoking extremism.

The rest never made it to publication, but we were able to obtain it through "secretive" means, thanks to our extensive contacts in all of Islamia and to have it "declassified."

Following the lead of the highly effective United Nations, Blair, in adopting this sure-fire-success of a forum idea, fully rejected what Mark Twain once said: "It's a terrible death to be talked to death."

Also rejecting this and everything else on earth were the Indonesian Islamic clerics who chewed on Blair's derriere until it bled. After their meeting with Blair, the clerics said that letting Blair walk out of their meeting with his head still on showed how much they were exhibiting tolerance and respect for others. The clerics prompty partied in the mosque, decapitating a goat in Blair's honor, after passing the goat around carnally.

When asked by the only rational reporter present how he thought he could ensure effectiveness of anything, given the nature of Islam, Blair and Bambag the First promptly ordered the reporter sent to shari'a court on the charge of interfering with wish fulfillment fantasies, and utterly spoiling the party with his bad attitude.

Blair told the audiences that he knew all he needed to know about Islam, and he was going to make cooperation work even if he had to give away the entire United Kingdom to Islamia. Blair concluded his remarks by quoting from a statement jointly developed with President Bush, remarks omitted by the MSM.

There are just so many Islams that we have made a decision to go with what the Islamists say it is. We know it to be "moderate," loving, charitable, non-aggressive, non-petulant, just as the Islamists say it is. We do not need to read any books because all of them these days say what we don't want to hear.

Mr. Blair said just before boarding his jet to return to England:

We are just head-over-heels in love with all this harmony with the religion of peace. Anyone following our example is likely to become head of the class. In fact, it is better to lose one's head over such love and brotherhood than for any other reason.

Reporters, asking where the rational reporter had gone and what was Mr. Blair carrying in that carry-on-box. He smiled with a wisdom of the ages without commenting.

Planned Mother Theresa Statue Irks Muslims In Albania

SHKODER, Albania (Reuters) - Muslims in Albania's northern city of Shkoder are opposing plans to erect a statue to Mother Teresa, the ethnic Albanian Catholic nun in line for elevation to sainthood by the Vatican.

The dispute is unusual for Albania, where religion was banned for 27 years under the regime of dictator Enver Hoxha and where religious harmony and mixed marriages are the norm.

Seventy percent of the population are liberal Muslims, the rest are Christian Orthodox and Catholic.

But Muslim groups in Shkoder rejected the local council plan for a Teresa statue, saying it "would offend the feelings of Muslims."

"We do not want this statue to be erected in a public place because we see her as a religious figure," said Bashkim Bajraktari, Shkoder's mufti or Muslim religious leader.

"If there must be a statue, let it be in a Catholic space."

Several residents told Reuters they felt there was an underground effort to treat Shkoder as a Catholic town, ignoring its majority Muslim community.

Shkoder's Muslims recently protested against crosses being erected on prominent hilltops.

"These acts jeopardise tolerance. Frankly, we're trying hard to maintain religious harmony," said deputy mufti Arben Halluni.

Skender Drini, a Shkoder writer and former diplomat, conceded the statue plan may have come at an inappropriate time.

"(But) if you rise against Mother Teresa, you rise against your own humanism and patriotism," he said.

Shkoder council has taken little notice of the controversy, deliberating a choice between one possible site at the entrance to the city and another near the center.

Born in Macedonia to Albanian parents, Mother Teresa is claimed by both countries. A square in Macedonia's capital Skopje bears her name, while Albania has named its international airport, a hospital, a square and a state medal after her.

Elsa Decka, 53, who said she was a Catholic with an Orthodox husband and a Muslim daughter-in-law, saw no reason why the statue should not be erected.

"Why not? She has done a lot of good for so many people,"" Decka said.

But men in one Shkoder bar said they would prefer a monument to an Albanian fighter who blew himself up in order to avoid being captured by enemy Serbs, or even to two Ottoman-era pashas remembered fondly in Shkoder.

mohamadist Sentenced To Thirty Years

US man in Bush murder plot sentenced to 30 years

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (Reuters) - A federal judge sentenced a U.S. citizen convicted of plotting to assassinate President George W. Bush and conspiring with al Qaeda to 30 years in prison on Wednesday.

In November, Abu Ali, now 25, was found guilty of all charges in a nine-count indictment, including conspiracy to assassinate Bush, conspiring to support al Qaeda and conspiracy to hijack aircraft.
"The court is sentencing you to 360 months, which is 30 years in prison," said U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee.

The sentence will be followed by 30 years of supervised release, Lee said.

Prosecutors had sought a life sentence for Abu Ali. However, the judge noted that no one in the United States was injured in these plots, and no weapons were ever found in Abu Ali's possession.

In arguing for life imprisonment, prosecuting attorney David Laufman said, "It is simply chilling to contemplate that this defendant might ever walk the streets of this country again ... Al Qaeda could not have found a more ideal operative to carry out terrorist attacks inside the United States."

Turkish Muslims Get Rid of Insulting Dogs

The municipal workers are doing this:

And two of the dogs were sexually abused. Apparently, the taboo of being around dogs can be suspended if a horny Muslim is around.

Did You Hear About This?

I promise: I am not making up the following. I heard the following on a newscast recently. Here is the gist of the story.

It seems that somewhere-in-Islamia, a Muslim married couple were sleeping through the night. The man, however, muttered in his sleep, and, over the night, he uttered "divorce" three times. The couple awoke, under Sharia, to find themselves divorced.

They went to Sharia court to reconcile this matter since they did not want to be divorced. However, the court gray-beard informed them that there was no reversal or annulment possible under Islam. The woman had to move out pronto.

To be able to return as wife to her original husband, she must (1.) marry another man, and (2.) that man must divorce her. Only then can she remarry the man she was married to until he talked in his sleep.

I am NOT making this up.

D.C. Sniper Makes A Request

When the D.C. Snipers were arrested, mention was made of a "personal jihad." The media hushed that one up pretty quickly.

But in this article from Gates of Vienna, we have the following information:

"During the Beltway Sniper crisis, back in the fall of 2002, a series of articles in The Washington Times described John Allen Muhammad’s conversion to Islam, and his later break with the Nation of Islam (the articles are no longer available, but extracts have been preserved here). Apparently the NOI was not militant enough for Mr. Muhammad, and he left it to become involved with a group called Jamaat ul-Fuqra (Arabic for 'community of the impoverished'), a terrorist organization founded by a notorious Pakistani cleric, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani."

From today's Washington Post, here is an excerpt from an article entitled "Muhammad Asks to Defend Himself":

"Sniper John Allen Muhammad has written a letter to a Maryland judge saying he wishes to represent himself during his first-degree murder trial because he has "no confidence or trust" in the two public defenders assigned to the case.

"'I'm very patience, now I have no more patience with Paul and/or Brian,' Muhammad wrote in a three-page letter, referring to Montgomery County public defender Paul DeWolfe and Brian Shefferman, two well-respected lawyers. 'All they have done is "lied" to me over and over Can you help me, I knew that I would need to fight in the court room but I didn't know that I would need to do that out side of the court room.'

"Montgomery Circuit Court Judge James L. Ryan filed Muhammad's handwritten letter as a motion and scheduled a hearing for tomorrow to discuss its merits.

"'We expect to fully address the issues Mr. Muhammad addressed in his letter before Judge Ryan,' DeWolfe said yesterday. He declined to respond in greater detail to the letter.

"Muhammad wrote that he would appreciate 'stand-by' attorneys 'to assistance me in mine defence. Not to defend me in mine defence.'

"Muhammad said he has tried unsuccessfully to get his attorneys to tell the court that he wants to represent himself because 'I don't want what happened in Va. on the first day of the trial.'

"Muhammad, 45, fired and re-retained his attorneys during his Virginia murder trial in the fall of 2003. He was sentenced to death in March 2004 after being convicted of killing one of 10 people slain during the sniper shootings that terrified the Washington area in October 2002.

"He is scheduled to go on trial May 1 on charges that he randomly killed six people in Maryland with a high-powered rifle in the 2002 slayings. Lee Boyd Malvo, 20, who is alleged to be his accomplice and who also has been convicted of murder in Virginia, is scheduled to be tried in October...."

Perhaps Muhammad wants to live after all. Or perhaps he's looking for a forum in which to explain his commitment to Islam. Perhaps Moussaoui's model in court has inspired Muhammad:

"ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui testified Monday that he and would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid were supposed to hijack a fifth airplane and fly it into the White House as part of the attack that unfolded Sept. 11, 2001.

"Moussaoui's testimony on his own behalf stunned the courtroom....

"Before Moussaoui took the stand, his lawyers made a last attempt to stop him from testifying, but failed. Defense attorney Gerald Zerkin argued that his client would not be a competent witness because he has contempt for the court, only recognizes Islamic law and therefore 'the affirmation he undertakes would be meaningless.'..."

Does a Muslim's taking the oath in a courtroom now mean that his testimony is automatically subject to suspicion? That idea certainly opens a new can of worms!

MUNSTER I Blaring car horns, racist slurs and angry fisticuffs punctuated a volatile encounter of protesters and counter-protesters Saturday morning outside Bank Calumet."God bless America! Stay out of our business!" yelled members of the locally based Indiana Federation for Immigration Reform and Enforcement.

"Go home (expletive) Nazi racists!" yelled members of an opposing group of circling counterprotesters.The federation, a public interest organization advocating what it calls immigration policies with an impact, demonstrated against bank loans for undocumented aliens, echoing six similar previous local protests.

Several members of the Chicago Minuteman Project joined the federation, hoisting protest signs to passing motorists and exchanging verbal jabs with visibly angry counterprotesters.

"We're not racists, we're LEGAL Americans," Minuteman members yelled under American flags whipping in a fierce wind. "Those people are Communists."

The counterprotesters -- some from the Progressive Labor Party of Chicago, others from Purdue University Calumet or there on their own -- chanted in bilingual defiance: "¡Obreros unidos jamas seran vencidos!" or, "Workers united will never be defeated!"

Blair - The Qur’an "is practical and way ahead of its time"

The Prime Minister during his speech "Not a clash between civilisations, but a clash about civilisation" ... included his praise of the Holy Qur’an.

"The most remarkable thing about reading the Koran – in so far as it can be truly translated from the original Arabic - is to understand how progressive it is.

"I speak with great diffidence and humility as a member of another faith. I am not qualified to make any judgements. But as an outsider, the Koran strikes me as a reforming book, trying to return Judaism and Christianity to their origins, rather as reformers attempted with the Christian Church centuries later. It is inclusive. It extols science and knowledge and abhors superstition. It is practical and way ahead of its time in attitudes to marriage, women and governance," he said.

Blair's remarks about the Koran take me back to post 9-11-01 when I bought and read my first Koran. Before I could finish the volume, it was crystal clear that this was a manual for war, that the followers of the Koran were bloodthirsty murders, and that anyone who lived by the tenets of this book had to belong to that unique group of humans: The Most Boring People on Earth.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/17/06) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today applauded a new policy established by the City of Tacoma Municipal Court allowing religious attire to be worn in courtrooms.

The new policy issued by Presiding Judge Arthur “Jack” Emery, was the result of an incident earlier this year in which a Muslim woman was ejected from another judge’s courtroom for refusing to remove her religiously-mandated headscarf. CAIR intervened on behalf of the woman, who later received an apology from the court.

In a March 9 memorandum to municipal court judges and staff, Judge Emery wrote: “This will confirm that no person shall be excluded from a courtroom for wearing attire for religious or medical purposes. The appropriateness of all other attire is within the Judge’s discretion.”

Judge Emery also told CAIR that the court is also pursuing an educational program regarding religiously-mandated attire.

“We thank Judge Emery for his efforts to provide religious accommodation in Tacoma courtrooms,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “It is important that everyone’s religious practices be respected, and it particularly important that they be respected in a court of law.”

Offended Muslims Seek Political Power in US

Waheed, the Teaneck council hopeful, was doing business in a building across from the World Trade Center on 9/11. He saw bodies falling from the towers and escaped in a cab driven by a Sikh.

He'd had the same clients for decades; they knew he was Pakistani. A lot were friendly after 9/11, he says, but "there were a few customers who were not. You can sense certain things. Discomfort." He sighs. "Islam is the most misunderstood religion, and Muslims are the most misunderstood people."

Why not: Dry out sex organs of Jews

If you think any of this is funny and dare to smile or laugh, well, then, you just might be an infidel...

For years in psychiatry, we regarded the term "thought disorder" as referring to serious, psychotic-level mental illness. One of the big four "A" diagnostic criteria first proposed by Eugen Bleuler for schizophrenia was "association," standing for very disrupted thinking. Delusions were part of the picture, but "thought disorder" covered a lot more territory, including paranoia and bipolar disorders. To some extent, disordered thinking is sine qua non in all psychiatric disorders, since thought really runs all of the human mind, in the foreground or in the background.

Never once did we EVER think of Islam when we talked of "thought disorders." Obviously, we were severely naive and under-educated. The evidence for our inadequacies can be found in the following article (excerpted):

In his mosque speech, Sheikh Muhammed reportedly went on to explain Allah decided to "hit the Israelis with birds," since birds are mentioned in the Quran as a tool used to defeat infidels.

He asked for congregants to "pray for Allah to dry out the sexual organs of the Jews with a disease so they won't be able to reproduce anymore."

Is that creative thought-disorder, or not?

People in America used to snicker at country bumpkins who lacked all sorts of urbane thinking and behaving, like the bumpkin who sat for the first time in a massive, overstuffed arm chair in a hotel lobby and proclaimed, "It's like sittin' in a tub of guts." Alas, such a person (my paternal grandfather) spoke to the middle of the 20th century from his rural, mountain, late 19th century and early 20th century, red neck perspective.

These Islamists accomplish what no one else on earth can do, not even savages in deep African or South American jungles. They can speak with the voice of the seventh century. That's one thing. A lot of psychiatric patients can speak to all sorts of disorders of thought, but not a one can speak as though Muhammad himself was speaking. But there is one thing worse yet.

The only thing comparable that we can think of to accompany this is that those spoken to actually believe this stuff. Folie a deux for each Muslim?

What if a modern psychiatrist here in civilization was as committed to the delusions of the psychotic as representing truth as was the patient himself of herself. Only a liberal could do it, and only a government program would pay for it.

Let's face it, when neutralized as a force of physical aggression, Islam is a real hoot!

Quebec Caves To Complaining Muslims

MONTREAL—The Quebec Human Rights Commission says a university-affiliated institution should try to find reasonable accommodation where its Muslim students can pray.

Some students at the Ecole de technologie supérieure, affiliated with the Université du Québec, complained they had to pray in the stairwell.

The students want the school to build a separate prayer room because they are tired of kneeling on prayer mats.

A commission spokesman says the college has a responsibility to offer reasonable prayer accommodation to the Muslim students but is not obliged to offer space that is exclusive to them.

Marc-André Dowd, the commission's interim president, said a multi-faith chapel or classrooms are possibilities.

The school's "secular format doesn't exempt it from its obligation to reasonably accommodate its Muslim students," he told a news conference.

The complaint was launched on behalf of 113 students.


The commission also ruled that pictograph signs prohibiting the washing of feet in the school's sinks wasn't discriminatory against Muslims, who must perform the ritual. Witnesses testified that it's acceptable for a person to simply pass his wet hands over his feet.

THE Vatican has begun moves to rehabilitate the Crusaders by sponsoring a conference at the weekend that portrays the Crusades as wars fought with the “noble aim” of regaining the Holy Land for Christianity.



The Crusades are seen by many Muslims as acts of violence that have underpinned Western aggression towards the Arab world ever since. Followers of Osama bin Laden claim to be taking part in a latter-day “jihad against the Jews and Crusaders”.

The late Pope John Paul II sought to achieve Muslim- Christian reconciliation by asking “pardon” for the Crusades during the 2000 Millennium celebrations. But John Paul’s apologies for the past “errors of the Church” — including the Inquisition and anti-Semitism — irritated some Vatican conservatives. According to Vatican insiders, the dissenters included Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI.

Pope Benedict reached out to Muslims and Jews after his election and called for dialogue. However, the Pope, who is due to visit Turkey in November, has in the past suggested that Turkey’s Muslim culture is at variance with Europe’s Christian roots.

At the conference, held at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University, Roberto De Mattei, an Italian historian, recalled that the Crusades were “a response to the Muslim invasion of Christian lands and the Muslim devastation of the Holy Places”.

“The debate has been reopened,” La Stampa said. Professor De Mattei noted that the desecration of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem by Muslim forces in 1009 had helped to provoke the First Crusade at the end of the 11th century, called by Pope Urban II.

He said that the Crusaders were “martyrs” who had “sacrificed their lives for the faith”. He was backed by Jonathan Riley-Smith, Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Cambridge University, who said that those who sought forgiveness for the Crusades “do not know their history”. Professor Riley-Smith has attacked Sir Ridley Scott’s recent film Kingdom of Heaven, starring Orlando Bloom, as “utter nonsense”.

Professor Riley-Smith said that the script, like much writing on the Crusades, was “historically inaccurate. It depicts the Muslims as civilised and the Crusaders as barbarians. It has nothing to do with reality.” It fuels Islamic fundamentalism by propagating “Osama bin Laden’s version of history”.

He said that the Crusaders were sometimes undisciplined and capable of acts of great cruelty. But the same was true of Muslims and of troops in “all ideological wars”. Some of the Crusaders’ worst excesses were against Orthodox Christians or heretics — as in the sack of Constantinople in 1204.

The American writer Robert Spencer, author of A Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, told the conference that the mistaken view had taken hold in the West as well as the Arab world that the Crusades were “an unprovoked attack by Europe on the Islamic world”. In reality, however, Christians had been persecuted after the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem.

President Bush said Wednesday that he is 'deeply troubled' that an Afghan man is being tried for converting to Christianity.

Abdul Rahman, 41, faces a possible death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity 16 years ago. He has been charged with rejecting Islam, a crime under this country's Islamic laws. Bush said in a speech that a young democracy is growing in Afghanistan, but he's concerned about the case.

'We expect them to honor the universal principle of freedom,' Bush said. 'I'm troubled when I hear, deeply troubled when I hear, the fact that a person who converted away from Islam may be held to account. That's not the universal application of the values that I talked about. I look forward to working with the government of that country to make sure that people are protected in their capacity to worship.'

Rahman's trial started last week, but a state prosecutor said Wednesday that he may be mentally unfit to stand trial. Moayuddin Baluch, a religious adviser to President Hamid Karzai, said Rahman would undergo a psychological examination and the case will be dropped if he's found mentally unfit. "

The UN likes Islam

The UN has decided to withdraw this poster from its buildings and websites. This after a Danish complaint to the UN High Comissioner for Refugees. The removal is happening at this moment.

One can but note that the UN in this case has surpassed itself. The message of this poster is clear. I know Lego has complained - hopefully they will take the UN to court.

New Algerian Law Prohibits Trying to Lead Muslims to Leave Islam

The Algerian parliament has approved a law banning the call to embrace other religions than Islam.

This law states to jail anyone "trying to call on a Muslim to embrace another religion," in remarks to the Christianizing (evangelize) campaigns taking place in the country.

The Algerian Ummah council (Senate) approved this decision on Monday. This decision which was approved by the national people's council ( parliament) on March 15th is an attempt to withstand the Christianizing campaign which had witnessed a notable activity recently especially in al-Qabayel area east of the country.

The ratified law stated to sentence imprisonment for two to five years and a fee between 5 to 10 thousands EURO against "anyone urging or forcing or tempting, to convert a Muslim to another religion."

The same penalty applies to every person, manufacturer, store or circulate publications or audo-visual or other means aiming at destabilizing attachment to Islam.

The law also bans practicing any religion "except Islam" "outside buildings allocated for that, and links specialized buildings aimed at practice of religion by a prior licensing."

The Maghreb territory of Algeria is yet another instructive example of the brilliant success of Arab-Islamosupremacist conquest—a ruthless, ongoing movement of ravenous seizure and obliteration of all cultures and societies it encounters.

WASHINGTON, March 20 (UPI) -- Two of America's top scholars have published a searing attack on the role and power of Washington's pro-Israel lobby in a British journal, warning that its "decisive" role in fomenting the Iraq war is now being repeated with the threat of action against Iran. And they say that the Lobby is so strong that they doubt their article would be accepted in any U.S.-based publication.

Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago, author of "The Tragedy of Great Power Politics" and Professor Stephen Walt of Harvard's Kenney School, and author of "Taming American Power: The Global Response to U.S. Primacy," are leading figures American in academic life.

They claim that the Israel lobby has distorted American policy and operates against American interests, that it has organized the funneling of more than $140 billion dollars to Israel and "has a stranglehold" on the U.S. Congress, and its ability to raise large campaign funds gives its vast influence over Republican and Democratic administrations, while its role in Washington think tanks on the Middle East dominates the policy debate.

And they say that the Lobby works ruthlessly to suppress questioning of its role, to blacken its critics and to crush serious debate about the wisdom of supporting Israel in U.S. public life.

"Silencing skeptics by organizing blacklists and boycotts -- or by suggesting that critics are anti-Semites -- violates the principle of open debate on which democracy depends," Walt and Mearsheimer write.

Britain Aims to Become Europe's Most 'Islam-Friendly' Economy

London (CNSNews.com) - As more and more British banks offer special services to Muslims, the government says its wants to make the United Kingdom the most Islam-friendly economy in Europe. [Part of Blair's new "Giving-Britain-Away-as-a-Tax-Deductible-Donation" program. Or, as Churchill did not say, Making Britain safe for everybody but Britons.]

Treasury officials said they wanted to create a "level playing field" for banks selling financial products that comply with Islamic law (shari'a.) [Muslims will indeed level them out, more like crushing those whom they do not behead.]

In addition to providing for the 1.8 million Muslims who live in Britain, Treasury spokesman Tom Youldon said the government would continue to promote the country as a center of Islamic finance for Muslims based abroad. [What do they think Islamists will do with England when they acquire it?]

"In Islam, there's a saying that in matters of [business] dealings, everything is possible - unless it's prohibited," he said. [Oh, my, that is sooooo funny--except that it isn't.]

Swiss documentary on Afghanistan: Pakistani, Saudi engineers helped destroy Buddhas

WASHINGTON: The Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan were destroyed by the Taliban with the help of Pakistani and Saudi engineers.

According to an account published here on Saturday, a local Afghan told the makers of a Swiss documentary on the giant statues which had stood there, carved in the side of a mountain for hundreds of years, had been destroyed by engineers from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The dynamiting of the statues took place in March 2001. Swiss documentary filmmaker Christian Frei, who has made several documentaries that have won praise at various international film festivals, shot ‘The Giant Buddhas’ in Afghanistan. The film is due to be shown at the National Gallery of Art in Washington on 26 March.

The Taliban went ahead with the destruction of the giant statues, revered for centuries, because they considered them “offensive to Islam”. They ignored appeals from around the world, including UNESCO and an appeal from the then Government of Pakistan, made, it would appear now, more “for the record” than any serious intent to stop the Islamist zealots from destroying what the rest of the world considered mankind’s heritage.

Taliban minister of information Qudratullah Jamal said in a statement later, “The destruction work is not as easy as people would think. You can’t knock down the statues by dynamite or shelling as both of them have been carved in a cliff. They are firmly attached to the mountain.” Museums and governments around the world kept hoping until the end that the Taliban would desist from committing what the rest of the world saw as an act of “cultural sacrilege” but they were adamant in their resolve.

A delegation from the Organisation of the Islamic Conference went to Kandahar to urge the Taliban leaders to change their mind, but was turned down. The Taliban information minister was quoted at the time as saying, “We would repeat to them as we have to other delegations that we are not going to back away from the edict, and that no statues in Afghanistan will be spared.” UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan also urged the Taliban not to go ahead but was rebuffed. Koichiro Matsuura, the head UNESCO, said the agency would continue efforts to salvage other Afghan relics targeted for destruction. “It is abominable to witness the cold and calculated destruction of cultural properties which were the heritage of the Afghan people, and, indeed, of the whole of humanity,” he said in a statement. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak dispatched the Grand Mufti of Egypt to Afghanistan to plead with the Taliban rulers to spare the statues but his emissary had no success either. Zahi Hawas, the man in charge of the plateau holding the great pyramids outside Cairo, said at the time, “They are making bad publicity about Islam - and Islam has nothing to do with what is happening in Afghanistan.”

Xuanzang, a 7th century Chinese monk, pilgrim and chronicler, travelled to Bamiyan and wrote a graphic description of the statues. He even mentioned a giant “sleeping Buddha” in the area, but no trace has been found of that in modern times.

"An Afghan man is facing the death penalty for becoming a Christian.

"Abdul Rahman was arrested last month after his family went to the police and accused him of converting from Islam.

"He has gone on trial for rejecting Islam - an offence punishable by death under Shariah law.

"During the hearing, the defendant allegedly confessed that he converted from Islam to Christianity 16-years-ago.

"He had been working as a medical aid worker for Afghan refugees in neighbouring Pakistan.

"The judge said: 'We are not against any particular religion in the world.

"'But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law.

"'It is an attack on Islam. The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty.'"

Another news source provides this information:

"Afghanistan's constitution is based on Shariah law, which states that any Muslim who rejects their religion should be sentenced to death ....

"The prosecutor, Abdul Wasi, said the case was the first of its kind in Afghanistan.

"He said that he had offered to drop the charges if Rahman changed his religion back to Islam, but the defendant refused...."

In two months, the court in Kabul is scheduled to rule on the above matter. Abdul Rahman is believed to be forty-one years old.

So there it is: being a Christian is an attack on Islam.

Iraqi cleric wants gays killed in "most severe way"


In the midst of sectarian violence that threatens to drag Iraq into civil war, the country's influential Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani has issued a violent death order against gays and lesbians on his Web site, according to London-based LGBT human rights groups OutRage.

Written in Arabic, the fatwa comes from a press conference with the powerful religious cleric, where he was asked about the judgment on sodomy and lesbianism. “Forbidden,” Sistani answered, according to OutRage, “Punished, in fact, killed. The people involved should be killed in the worst, most severe way of killing.”

Considering Sistani's stature and influence within the Iraqi Shiite majority, OutRage member Ali Hili declared the cleric's statements extremely dangerous.

“Sistani's murderous homophobic incitement has given a green light to Shia Muslims to hunt and kill lesbians and gay men,” said Hili. “We hold Sistani personally responsible for the murder of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Iraqis. He gives the killers theological sanction and encouragement.”

Sistani is a leading member and voice of the Shiite sect, which in Iraq has approximately twice as many followers as the Sunni sect. (The Advocate)

Franklin Graham reaffirms criticism of Islam

The Rev. Franklin Graham, who outraged Muslims in 2001 when he said that Islam "is a very evil and wicked religion," told an interviewer for Wednesday’s edition of ABC News "Nightline" that he hasn’t changed his mind about the faith.Asked by ABC correspondent John Donvan whether Muslim groups had succeeded in altering his outlook about Islam, Graham said "No. ""Do they want to indoctrinate me? Yes.

I know about Islam. I don’t need an education from Islam," he said. "If people think Islam is such a wonderful religion, just go to Saudi Arabia and make it your home. Just live there. If you think Islam is such a wonderful religion, I mean, go and live under the Taliban somewhere. I mean, you’re free to do that."

Auto-terrorist acknowledges the Koran's influence

In a letter to Raleigh's ABC-TV affiliate (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin), the car-driving terrorist Mohammed Taheri-azar says the following:

The suspect in this month's attack on the UNC-CH campus has written a letter to ABC11 Eyewitness News. Eyewitness News received the letter Monday, in response to our request for an interview. It was sent from Central Prison in Raleigh and dated Friday, March 10. Addressed to ABC11 Eyewitness News anchor Amber Rupinta, the two-page letter includes Taheri-azar's explanation of what he was trying to accomplish in the attack.

"Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom and/or living one's life in obedience of all of Allah's commandments found throughout the Koran's 114 chapters..."

"The U.S. government is responsible for the deaths of and the torture of countless followers of Allah, my brothers and sisters. My attack on Americans at UNC-CH on March 3rd was in retaliation for similar attacks orchestrated by the U.S. government on my fellow followers of Allah in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and other Islamic territories. I did not act out of hatred for Americans, but out of love for Allah instead."

I think this pretty much says everything we need to know about the influence of Islam, now doesn't it? As Ranting Profs says - case closed.

The Nobel Prize Committee Is Controlled by the Jews - Obviously!

We have come to learn of the problems Muslims have with intellectual achievement. We have come to learn that the greatest fear of all that Islam has is that someone, somewhere, at some time, will ask some pesky questions that might possibly result in (gasp!) CHANGE. We have learned that since the Koran is is literal, dictated Word of Allah, it is perfect, and therefore cannot be changed. By Allah, when the Koran says that Muslims have one intestine and the infidel has seven, that's that! Questions? Of course not! After all, as they say in Islam, any knowledge worth knowing is in the Koran, and since that knowledge is from Allah himself, to change it would be a sin.

Here are some everyday examples of ways the Islamic prohibition against thinking, knowledge, and change affects the everyday lives and opportunities for achievement among Muslims:

1) In the Arab world, the illiteracy rate, depending on your source, is between 50% and 80%.

2) In Europe, the number of books per person is ten times greater than the number of books per person in the Muslim Middle East and Africa combined.

3) The number of books translated into Arabic in the last ONE THOUSAND (1000) years is equal to the number of books translated into Spanish alone in ONE (1) year.

4) Between 1980 and 1999, the number of patents from Arab countries registered in the United States was 370. During that same time period, the number of patents from South Korea alone was 16,328.

5) At Google headquarters in Silicon Valley, there is a large world map with lights that shows the number of searches going on at any particular moment. The whole world is bright, except for the region stretching from Morocco to the border of India, where it is almost completely dark.

6) In the Arab world, the number of computers per 1000 people is 18; the number of computers per person world wide, including poor nations, is 78 per 1000.

7) When the "outsourcing" of hi-tech jobs was discussed at a meeting in Davos, Switzerland, countries as diverse as India, China, Mexico, and Ireland were discussed. Countries in the Arab world are not considered at all, because they don't have the infrastructure or the educational level to support such work.

In short, Islam, with its pronounced fear of, and antipathy for, change, is the most profoundly, ferociously, and viciously anti-intellectual, anti-knowledge philosophy in the world. As a result, the minds of its followers are in a high-security prison. They can't think, ask questions, or pursue insights, for fear of being declared "immoral" and punished as such. Most of them, in their most human of hearts and minds, would love to be more like the rest of the world, but that would require fundamental changes in Islam itself, changes so profound that we would no longer recognize it as the same entity.

No one has ever accused the Arabs of being dumb. It's their system, Islam, not their brains, that causes their problems.

We know that Muslims, with their primitive Bedouin sense of what passes for self-esteem, suffer greatly when they look at the rest of the world and see the achievements of the intellect going on "out there." That's one of the reasons for their temper-tantrums.

In order to try to compensate for what they are forbidden by Islam to achieve intellectually, they reach back to a period before Islam even existed to try to lay claim to the credit for accomplishments that had their origin 700 years earlier, and which went on to stun the world with their brilliance. These accomplishments were the products of the students of the Greek philosophers who came to the still pagan Arabs of that part of the world in the footsteps of the conquests of Alexander the Great.

When Mohammed struck, a few Muslims, who were not yet dedicated followers of the format we see today, rode for a while on the coattails of the Greek philosophers, made some contributions, and then were quickly and completely stamped out by the mullahs. Islam did not have a "Golden Age," as it so fraudulantly claims, but was, in fact, responsible for the demise of what was left of a previously-existing brilliant scholarly community when it took over those territories. From that time on, the freedom to think, and the resulting intellectual achievements, began a rapid decline towards death.

A few nights ago, I had consumed my Starbuck's a little too late in the day; while I was waiting for the caffeine to wear off so I could get some sleep, I was wandering around the Blogosphere, and somewhere, I ran into a list that had the Muslim winners of the Nobel Prize along with the Jewish winners of the Nobel Prize.

I got sleepy just about then, and didn't save it, and the next day I couldn't find it; with gratitude to Jason, though, I am able to present it here for your edification and entertainment, to say nothing of Muslim "humiliation."

Norway:preserving the family's honor

A court in Kristiansand, southern Norway, has sentenced a man to 120 days in jail for beating his teenage daughter with straps and a metal rod. The beatings were sparked by her admission that she no longer was a virgin.

The 49-year-old man, who emigrated to Norway from Iraq, claimed he'd done nothing wrong. He told the court that he was "much kinder" than many other fathers from his culture would have been.

He claimed most other men would have killed the girl, instead of "just beating her." He also complained that his daughter had put his family in a difficult situation by reporting the beatings to police. Kristiansand newspaper Fædrelandsvennen reported that he now fears he'll be deported.

The court decision marks the second time he's been convicted of assaulting his daughter. He was sentenced to 45 days in prison last June after he beat his daughter for coming home late and having a boyfriend.

The beatings continued after the daughter admitted she'd had sexual relations with two boyfriends. The father also allegedly threatened to decapitate her.

He told the court that he regrets bringing his family to Norway, because he believes the country is much less conservative than he had thought it was.

SAVORY SPAM CRESCENTS

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:00

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

10 sl Bacon, cut in small pieces
1/4 c Finely chopped onion
1 cn SPAM Luncheon Meat, cubed
- 12 oz
1 Egg, beaten
3 tb Grated Parmesan cheese
2 tb Chopped fresh parsley
2 tb Dijon-style mustard
1/8 t Pepper
2 pk Refrigerated crescent roll
-dough (8 oz)

Heat oven to 375'F. In skillet, cook bacon and onion until bacon is
crisp; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients except crescent roll
dough. Separate each package of crescent dough into 8 triangles.
Spread top half of each triangle with SPAM mixture; roll up. Place on
baking sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

My Favorite Dhimmis Are at it Again

The poor fools over at Islamophobia Watch are full of tales of Islamic misery and woe (none warranted) and I have attacked them before, but here is their take on the current British controversy. This site is rather fun to lampoon, I must admit, and I highly recommend visiting (if only for their "definition" of "islamophobia") as well as writing to them. I prefer to send them photos of victims of genocide in Asia Minor myself, but take your pick. Here's their take:

The Danish publisher Bookwright has circulated an appeal in response to Patrick Sookhdeo's interview in last week's Sunday Telegraph:

Sunday Telegraph article calls for the Qur'an to be Banned

An article by Alasdair Palmer in last week's Sunday Telegraph (19 Feb 2006) entitled "The day is coming when British Muslims form a state within a state" contains the following paragraph:

"... For example, there is a book, The Noble Koran: a New Rendering of its Meaning in English, which is openly available in Muslim bookshops. It calls for the killing of Jews and Christians, and it sets out a strategy for killing the infidels and for warfare against them. The Government has done nothing whatever to interfere with the sale of that book. Why not? Government ministers have promised to punish religious hatred, to criminalise the glorification of terrorism, yet they do nothing about this book, which blatantly does both."

You will probably know that the publication referred to is the Bewley translation of the Qur'an which is rapidly being recognised as one of the most accurate and readable translations. Not only does Palmer's interviewee advocate banning the sale of the Qur'an but describes its contents in such a way as to suggest it is nothing more than a handbook on terrorism. He falsely claims that it "calls for the killing of Jews and Christians".

The Qur'an does not call for Jews and Christians to be killed. This claim is a malicious lie. Furthermore the interviewee urges that the Qur'an itself be made illegal. It is outrageous that the Sunday Telegraph should promote such a viewpoint, particularly in the context of recent events. We cannot permit Allah's Book to be traduced in this way in the National Press and allow the Sunday Telegraph to promote such an abhorrent view of the Qur'an.

It is important to note that this article represents a new and more sinister development. Previously, we have had attacks on the person of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the bearer of the revelation. This attack is on the revelation itself, and thus indicates a new and more dangerous front opened in the war on Islam. Certainly the minimum we can do is send an e-mail to the editor of the Sunday Telegraph expressing our outrage at this unprecedented open attack on the Qur'anic text.

They can't stand when it's not even them who're being lampooned

Back in February, Chip Bok, a political cartoonist for the Akron Beacon Journal, was being attacked on his blog, and also by CAIR, supposedly for making fun of their oh-so precious prophet, when it was really CNN being targeted, for how they blotted out a clear vision of the Mo cartoons on their broadcasts.

And what's really sad was that some "useful idiots" took their side in all this mess. See at Michelle Malkin's for more.

The Beacon Journal summed it up well in an editorial on February 12, and Bok has defended his cartoon. He makes a good point in his cartoon on how CNN simply chickened out in giving people a clearer chance to form an opinion on the Mo cartoons, which are quite mild, IMO.

Iran News: Men & Women Walking Together Now a BIG No-No

Tehran, Iran, Jan. 07 – The government of radical Islamist Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to segregate Iran’s pedestrian walkways on gender basis, according to Fatemeh Alia, a deputy in Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) and one of Ahmadinejad’s closest allies.

Since Ahmadinejad took office as president, new measures have been enforced to, in his words, “return the Islamic Republic to the days of the [1979 Islamic] revolution”.

As part of the government plan called “Increase the hejab (veil) culture and female chastity”, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has received orders to construct separate pedestrian walkways for men and women, according to Alia.

“This plan is the most advanced and complete plan regarding the hejab. In the next two weeks its final considerations will be complete and it will start to be implemented”.

Previously, when he was Mayor of Tehran, Ahmadinejad ordered all the buildings belonging to the municipality to have separate elevators for men and women.

As found on page 101 of Teaching About Islam & Muslims in the Public School Classroom, published in 1995 by the Council on Islamic Education, the following excerpt is from the section entitled "Materials Not Recommended For Classroom Use":

"...By mixing cultural, political and religious features of Iranian Society, the story does a disservice to viewers' understanding of Islam...Viewers' emotions are manipulated by...a major plot turn which has Mahmoody almost separated from her daughter Mahtab.

"While some educators have used this film to shed light on Iranian and Muslim life, it is an unacceptable teaching tool, which only serves to alienate young Muslim students in the classroom even as it maligns one of the world's major faith traditions...."

The CIE goes on to speak of this:

"[T]he necessity of allowing a religion or culture to speak for itself with an authentic voice, and the importance of presenting information in an open-ended manner..."

Never mind that the story presented in the film Not Without My Daughter is a true one! Never mind that Islam indeed mixes culture, politics, and religion!

And since when does Islam allow for discussion in "an open-ended manner"? How much "open-ended" discussion did Muslims participate in when the Danish cartoons were published?

Now I believe it is time to show solidarity with the people in the West hiding from Islamist death threats.

I am specifically talking about Mr. Rushdie, Ms. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, The editors of Jyllandsposten, the 12 cartoonist and all others in a similar situation. These people must hide and/or be protected the rest of their lives because of fanatic Islamist.

But I hope they do not hide in fear but in pride. They have managed to gain up to 1,3 billion Muslims as their enemy. This is quite some achievement.

They have been given Fatwas. And we are not just talking about any ordinary Fatwa. Not one of these puny Fatwas on religious principle, like whether menstruating horses are ok for riding on Tuesday. Those any half decent Mufti will pull out of his sleeves any given Monday.

Nope we are talking about the Fatwa of death. It is the somber and most serious of all awards. The ultimate of honor bestowed on an enemy: You pissed me off!

In the UK you may be bestowed with a Knight Commander of the order of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (see medal). People will call you Sir. But quite frankly? Enemy of enemies? How many modern Sirs, do you know who have been killed or are in hiding? Right!

No, the death Fatwa is the Award of awards. The upcoming medal is too big to be carried by an elephant and the title on par of a minor deity.

Voltaire, given modern technology, could have been the Salman Rushdie of his day. Now Muslims not only want to censor criticism of Islam and Muhammad; they want the West to forget that such criticism has ever, ever been made in history. SAINT-GENIS-POUILLY, France -- Late last year, as an international crisis was brewing over Danish cartoons of Muhammad, Muslims raised a furor in this little alpine town over a much older provocateur: Voltaire, the French champion of the 18th-century Enlightenment.
A municipal cultural center here on France's border with Switzerland organized a reading of a 265-year-old play by Voltaire, whose writings helped lay the foundations of modern Europe's commitment to secularism. The play, "Fanaticism, or Mahomet the Prophet," uses the founder of Islam to lampoon all forms of religious frenzy and intolerance.

The production quickly stirred up passions that echoed the cartoon uproar. "This play ... constitutes an insult to the entire Muslim community," said a letter to the mayor of Saint-Genis-Pouilly, signed by Said Akhrouf, a French-born cafe owner of Moroccan descent and three other Islamic activists representing Muslim associations. They demanded the performance be cancelled.

Instead, Mayor Hubert Bertrand called in police reinforcements to protect the theater. On the night of the December reading, a small riot broke out involving several dozen people and youths who set fire to a car and garbage cans. It was "the most excitement we've ever had down here," says the socialist mayor....

Editors in France, Germany and elsewhere have explained their decision to reprint the drawings by pointing to principles enshrined in a statement often attributed to Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Voltaire said something similar, but the phrase was coined in 1906 by a biographer of Voltaire to sum up the French writer's views.

"Fanaticism," the play that stirred the ruckus in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, portrays Muhammad as a ruthless tyrant bent on conquest. Its main theme is the use of religion to promote and mask political ambition.

For Voltaire's Muslim critics, the play reveals a centuries-old Western distortion of Islam. For his fans, it represents a manifesto for liberty and reason and should be read not so much as an attack on Islam but as a coded assault on the religious dogmas that have stained European history with bloody conflict....

The night of the reading, riot police took up positions outside Saint-Genis-Pouilly's cultural center. An hour into the performance, the mayor got called out of the hall because of street disturbances. The mayor says the mood was "quasi-insurrectional," but damage was minor. Police chased Muslim youths through the streets.

Now that tempers have calmed, Mayor Bertrand says he is proud his town took a stand by refusing to cave in under pressure to call off the reading. Free speech is modern Europe's "foundation stone," he says. "For a long time we have not confirmed our convictions, so lots of people think they can contest them."

French Muslims take cartoons row to Euro court

STRASBOURG, March 9, 2006 (AFP) - The European Court of Human Rights said Thursday that it had received a request by a French Muslim body to condemn the publication of cartoons of Prophet Mohammed in French newspapers.

The Regional Council for the Muslim Religion (CRCM) in the Champagne Ardenne region said in a statement that the publication of the controversial cartoons in French newspapers constituted a discrimination between Muslims and non-Muslims contrary to the European Convention of Human Rights.

"Muslims from Champagne Ardenne are touched like the rest of Muslims in the world, injured in their faith and their dignity," said the CRCM, that filed the complaint on February 13.

The Muslim
body said it hoped that the European court would accept the case, even though it had not yet exhausted possibilities for a trial in France.

The European Court of Human Rights has now to decide whether it will accept the case.

The 12 cartoons were first published in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten newspaper in September and have since been reprinted elsewhere, igniting demonstrations in the Islamic world.

Muslims consider all images of the prophet to be blasphemous.
