Islam Is A Mental Disorder

Excerpt from the April 19, 2006 Washington Post:

"Zacarias Moussaoui is convinced that the FBI tried to track his movements in the United States through a surveillance device placed inside his electric fan and believes President Bush will free him in a prisoner exchange, a clinical psychologist testified at Moussaoui's death penalty trial yesterday.

"Xavier Amador told jurors that Moussaoui has paranoid schizophrenia and is delusional...

"Defense attorneys have spent this week trying to undo the damage Moussaoui did to his case with his testimony, in which he said, among other things, that the sobbing Sept. 11 family members who testified against him were 'disgusting.' A key part of defense attorneys' argument is that Moussaoui is mentally ill and that jurors should use that as a mitigating factor to spare his life. Prosecutors say Moussaoui is not delusional and are expected to present medical experts this week.

"Amador used a chart he labeled Moussaoui's 'delusional systems.' He said that Moussaoui's refusal to work with his defense team is a reflection of his paranoia and that his view that Bush will free him in a prisoner exchange is 'grandiose.' He quoted from a 2002 motion Moussaoui filed in which he argued that the electric fan, which he said had been left on his car as a gift, contained the FBI surveillance device.

"But Novak pointed out that Moussaoui has behaved perfectly in front of the jury since the trial started March 6 and only yells out 'sound bites' when the jury and judge leave the courtroom. The latest of those came during a morning break yesterday when Moussaoui called out, in his thick French accent: 'Crazy or not crazy? That is the question.'"

Well, I guess hearing that jihadists are paranoid, grandiose, delusional, and schizo is better that that tiresome refrain of "the religion of peace."
